One more tool to help companies integrate an ecodesign approach to existing business processes

This training is intended for Éco Entreprises Québec’s (ÉEQ) contributing companies and organizations as well as packaging manufacturers and concerned partners. Program objectives are to provide companies with appropriate tools in a group training format and a personalized in-company coaching session, which enable them to:

  • Implement a packaging ecodesign and optimization initiative
  • Encourage their packaging suppliers to make better choices

Custom training in the integration of ecodesign and its benefits in the company’s overall business strategy

The course helps you clearly identify and understand the issues as well as seize opportunities resulting from new market pressures on container and packaging management. You get to explore how various ecodesign strategies can improve packaging quality when in-house personnel and suppliers get involved in the process in addition to learning about life cycle analysis tools.

The training teaches participants how to apply optimization and ecodesign approaches and suggests best practices for communicating environmental information. The course complements, an interactive portal on the ecodesign of containers and packaging, and OptimAction, the initiative measurement and communications tool.

The program consists in:

  • A full-day’s training, including a tour of a sorting centre
  • A half-day’s coaching session conducted on company premises by an ecodesign expert

The coaching session may be used, among other things, to help launch an initiative, mobilize teams, identify avenues for improving packaging or develop communications strategies.

This course is for people who wish to:

  • Define an overall vision in order to better understand changes in the packaging sector

  • Understand packaging ecodesign and optimization concepts

  • Launch a packaging ecodesign and optimization initiative

  • Steer packaging suppliers’ efforts towards responsible procurement

  • Develop arguments to mobilize teams and partners

  • Effectively communicate what their packaging ecodesign and optimization initiative is all about

  • Set up a management framework to improve the environmental performance of their packaging
