2008 Information Document
In 2007, RECYC-QUÉBEC carried out a cost and revenue study (Étude sur les coûts et les revenus 2005 et 2006 de la collecte sélective des matières recyclables) that, for the first time in the history of the 20-year curbside recycling program, produced province-wide data on this municipal service. Given that the results of this study would highlight municipal organizations that were most efficient and effective, Éco Entreprises Québec (ÉEQ) developed a reference document intended for municipalities, Curbside Recycling Best Practices.
In cooperation with the Association des organismes municipaux de gestion des matières résiduelles (AOMGMR), ÉEQ also organized the Technical Day on best practices in curbside recycling for municipalities, which was attended by 120 municipal representatives, officials and managers involved in curbside recycling.
Carried out as part of the Colloque sur la gestion des matières résiduelles organized by RÉSEAU environnement, the Technical Day was a unique opportunity to share information, analyses and techniques to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Quebec’s municipal curbside recycling services.
