The Remaking Machine – Another way to give new life to recovered materials
Montréal, March 5, 2013 — To continue their three‐year, multi‐platform Recycling is remaking TV,
radio, print and web campaign, Éco Entreprises Québec and RECYC‐QUÉBEC presented the
“Remaking Machine,” a fun, hands‐on experience made available in Montréal area movie theatres.
This is yet another unexpected and striking way the two partners came up with to demonstrate the
second life that can be given to materials placed in recycling bins.
Itself a piece of recovered machinery, the “Remaking Machine” is based on a classic amusement
park game and offers its many players gifts that were also made from recycled materials. Players
use a mechanized claw to try to place recoverable containers, packaging and printed matter in the
recycling bin. If successful, they receive prizes that are as interesting as they are useful and varied.
Deployed in popular movie theatres, this public event surprised and delighted many movie‐goers. A
video of the event, available at www.recreer.ca/bac‐en‐vedette/la‐machine‐a‐recreer, shows
participants' excitement at discovering the originality of items that have been “remade.” Here are a
Garden furniture (wrapped in recycled paper)
Shovels (made with recycled metal)
Polar fleece clothing (made with recycled plastic)
Notebooks (made with recycled paper)
Bracelets (made with recycled aluminium)
Small vacuums (made with recycled plastic)
The LES ÉVADÉS agency developed and implemented the concept.
About Éco Entreprises Québec
Éco Entreprises Québec is a private, non‐profit organization. ÉEQ’s mission is to represent
companies with regard to their responsibility to finance the net costs of municipal curbside

Concerned with helping Quebecers find innovative ways to sustainably manage residual materials
so we may become a waste‐free society, RECYC‐QUÉBEC encourages all Quebecers to reduce at the
source, reuse, recycle and recover residual materials. RECYC‐QUÉBEC therefore seeks to influence
how products are manufactured and consumed. It is the designated organization for coordinating
