Away-from-Home Recovery Program
A recycling bin next to every trash can!
The Away-from-Home Recovery Program is an ÉEQ initiative designed to extend the reach of curbside recycling programs to areas outside the home via an effective recyclable materials recovery system.
This simple and efficient program:
- Is equally financed to the tune of $8 million by ÉEQ and the Ministère du Développement durable, de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques via the Fonds vert.
- Is intended for municipal organizations.
- Finances the acquisition of materials recovery equipment for installation in indoor and outdoor municipal public places (along streets and bike trails, in bus shelters, arenas, libraries, etc.).
- Reimburses 70% of the cost of the equipment, up to a maximum of $840 per unit, based on the approval of a financial assistance application.
Public places - An opportunity to recover more and better!
The program is designed to create the widest away-from-home materials recovery network in North America by enabling the public to continue to recover recyclables when they are not at home.
More than 15,000 bins financed
