A total of 21.7 tons of C02 have been neutralized, which is the equivalent of 6 cars' GHG emissions for a year.

In partnership with the Delta Centre-Ville Hotel and NI Environment, ÉEQ is putting the following measures in place to ensure that the Producing and Consuming in a New Way Symposium shows leadership in terms of eco-responsibility :

  • Recycling and composting of all waste materials generated by the event
  • Reduced access to trash cans
  • Use of local and fair-trade food products during coffee breaks, cocktails and meals
  • Passing on to a food bank any food that was prepared for coffee breaks but not consumed
  • Weighing and calculation of waste materials generated during the event
  • Notebooks and pens provided to participants upon request only
  • Provide toilet paper and hand towels made of recycled materials in washrooms
  • No distribution of hard copy programs; programming will be displayed on projection screens and large flipchart stands.
