Registration and Reporting  | update August 30, 2011

Companies or organizations that meet the following criteria during one or more obligation years covered by the legislation are subject to the provisions set out in the Act :

  • Have a domicile, an establishment or a place of business in Quebec
  • Own a brand, a name or a distinguishing guise or are the first supplier of such products in Quebec
  • Generate designated materials ultimately intended for Quebec consumers

Only companies or organizations that have marketed containers, packaging or printed matter in Quebec during the designated calendar year are subject to the law and required to pay a contribution. If your company or organization did not market such materials in Quebec during a particular calendar year, you are not required to file a report for the associated obligation year.

 Steps and assistance to register and complete the online reporting
  
To meet their responsibilities, companies and organizations must register with Éco Entreprises Québec, file a report online and pay their contribution.

Before you register, be sure to have the following on hand :
  1. The name of a primary contact (the person who is authorized to act on behalf of your organization with regard to legal obligations) - you will need to provide the name of the primary contact, his/her e-mail address, title and telephone number;
  2. The exact address of the company or organization;
  3. Information to help you answer yes or no to the following question :

Once you have that information, you may proceed with registration by clicking on the button below.

Once you have registered, ÉEQ will send an e-mail to your Primary Contact containing your Company Number, Username and Password, which will be required to access the online reporting system.

Please note that the information you provide will remain strictly confidential. The information you will provide should cover obligation years 2005, 2006 and 2007.

In accordance with the 2009 Schedule of Contributions, a credit may be granted to companies that meet certain standards for printed matter. To apply, fill out this Credit Request for Post-consumer Recycled Content form and submit it with supporting documentation before the deadline for 2009 contribution remittance.

Supporting documentation must be provided for each material with post-consumer recycled content concerned by this request. Acceptable supporting documentation includes:

  • Recognized certification, such as FSC recycled content, EcoLogo
  • Supplier’s letter, detailing the chain of custody, quantity, year of purchase
  • ISO 14001 Standards
  • Other certifications may be accepted after an in-depth analysis of criteria used

Should the Primary Contact in your company or organization change, it will be important to provide the Member Services at Éco Entreprises Québec with the new information as soon as possible in order to update your company file. The Primary Contact is the person with whom we deal with for all information relating to your current and future reports.
