Environmental claims: A guide for industry and advertisers

The environmental description of products is taking up an increasing amount of space on packaging and in advertising. These “green labels” constitute eco-marketing and provide information on the ecological performance of products.

The Canadian Standards Association (CSA) is responsible for formulating the standards for environmental management systems and self-declared environmental claims, including rules that must be respected to ensure such claims are both consistent and fair.
